Tanzania's Water Sector Thrives: 50th Anniversary Celebrated with International Conference

The 50th anniversary celebrations of the Water College and the 3rd International Water Science Conference opened under the esteemed presence of Retired President, His Excellency Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. In his inaugural speech, President Kikwete applauded the college's efforts in propelling the nation's water sector forward. He emphasized the institution's role in "strengthening the sector by producing competent personnel serving in various capacities."

Adding to the celebratory spirit, Water Institute Rector, Dr. Adam Karia, proudly announced the graduation of over 6,000 high-caliber professionals who actively contribute to the water sector. He reiterated the college's commitment to "continuing to produce even more specialists to fulfill the nation's water sector needs."

Over 500 participants from both within and outside Tanzania converged for the event. The conference presented a crucial platform for discussions on diverse water sector issues, encompassing both the challenges and promising opportunities it holds.
